Too many of us are stressed and exhausted from overgiving. We shoulder more than our share of life’s labour. It’s no surprise that we experience brain fog, poor memory, chronic fatigue, digestive issues, insomnia or painful joints. These symptoms are often caused by a dysregulated immune system, which is why reducing stress is our first priority. By offering yoga and coaching in combination, I help you restore balance in mind and body so you can reclaim your life

The impact of stress

Our body’s stress response is a natural fight-or-flight cycle that’s designed to complete when the cause of stress goes away. But stressful situations don’t end. So the body continues to pump out cortisol. This interrupts sleep cycles and deprives the reproductive and digestive systems of what they need to function well. It impairs memory, reduces focus and inhibits our ability to make new choices. It can also impair the immune system, making you more susceptible to autoimmune conditions.

The power of rest

Activating the body’s relaxation response stops stress in its tracks. It helps to regulate all our systems, including sleep cycles, digestion and the immune response. It grows the parts of the brain responsible for memory function, improves focus and increases our capacity for change. When we’re in a state of relaxation, the brain can produce chemicals needed to form new neural pathways. These are the pathways that help us take action towards the changes we want to see in our health and our lives.
