I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2019. MS is a chronic autoimmune condition that attacks the brain and spine, but I keep my MS in check through self-management and lifestyle intervention, and I live a healthy, active life.
Long before I was diagnosed, I’d already experienced chronic bursitis, inflammatory arthritis, seborrheic dermatitis, polycystic ovaries and hypothyroidism. I dabbled with dietary and lifestyle changes with some success but really needed a timeout to reassess the way I was living my life.
I finally pressed pause on a years-long writing career to qualify as a mindset and growth coach. I studied neurolinguistic programming and astrology, and travelled around India where I trained as a yoga teacher – completing certifications in both ashtanga-based vinyasa and yin yoga. After that, I became a women’s health writer – specialising in hormones and sexual health.
I now use all of these tools to manage my MS and offer them to you in support of your healthy, active life. I am not a medical practitioner. Nor do I provide nutritional advice. I draw on coaching models, years of yoga practice (on and off the mat), and plenty of experience living with autoimmune conditions.
